  Research has shown that Mental health problems remain prevalent in young adults . Mental health can affects various aspects of your lives whether your relationships, stress and decision making . Mental health conditions can affects your wellbeing , including your mood and your emotions. Dealing with mental issues as a young adult may lead to challenges with your families, in school, with friends and within your communities. Some of the most common issues young adults may experience include: anxiety , eating disorders, ADHD, depression, and substance abuse .  Parents and caregivers are often the first individuals to notice any changes in children behaviors. It can be difficult to detect any form of mental health issues in children as young children may not be able to express how they feel or explain why they may behave a certain way . When in doubt with what you are observing, consult with your child doctors and other health care professionals and describe the behaviors that you are concern about. As parents maintain a supportive home environment , educate yourself on the matter the particular issues with guidance from your health care professional, validate your child's feelings and encourage healthy coping mechanism.  #coping mechanism 

How to respond to mental health stigma

Responding to mental health stigma involves a combination of education, advocacy, and personal commitment to creating a more understanding of mental health is . It is important that mental health professionals promote open dialogue and clarifications for family, co-workers, children , youths and people is all areas of life to have a deep knowledge on the subject ,with the hope that they will be more empathic and kind instead of  the stigma.  Here are a few tips as to how to respond to mental health stigma: 1. Respond to any negative comments by providing some facts on mental health . 2. Never isolate yourself when someone wants you to feel ashamed. 3. Respond by saying ,there is no shame when one is experiencing a challenge . 4. Maintain a positive attitude and educate if you can  5. Talk openly about mental health and refer individuals to available resources if you can .

What does Mental health stigma look like

Mental health stigma can manifest in various ways, affecting individuals who are experiencing mental health challenges. Mental health stigma also involves passing judgment and shaming  someone struggling with life issues.  Different cultures sometimes attach stigma mainly due to a lack of information and also a lack of support and  of resources .  Self-Stigma Internalized Shame : Feeling ashamed or embarrassed about having a mental health condition and believing that it makes one inferior.
